Babytalk: UX/UI Design

UX Design

THE BRIEF

THE BRIEF

Parents need a way to communicate about their child to a caregiver, whether it’s a nanny, babysitter or family member. I wanted to find a way to help parents and caregivers get the information they need more quickly and efficiently. As a mother myself, I also have my own biases and assumptions. I set out to interview parents and caregivers. I couldn't predict their answers, but as they shared their stories and experiences with me, I started hearing important information about their lives.

PERSONAS

PERSONAS

Through my research, two personas became clear. Julia, the parent, is my primary persona, and Yolanda, the nanny, is the second persona.

WIREFRAMES

WIREFRAMES

These first sketches are guesses. I didn’t know if they were right or not. I tested them with my participants. Paper prototypes are fast and cheap and users interacted with it just as if it was a real app. One tester pressed the microphone button down to record, and this gesture helped me design the interface.
